New album in the pipeline for Greg Bain....
G’Day Everyone,

The Tamworth festival seems like it was a long time ago and I have traveled a lot of miles since then. But I have to say that I’m still having fun and enjoying the music and the ever-growing list of friends.

In February I traveled to Gunnedah to perform at the Ann Kidd memorial concert. I have performed at this concert every year since winning the Star Quest, This year my eldest daughter Jayde also performed. The concert this year had one of largest audiences to date and a lot of money was raised for this great cause. Congratulation to Col Rollings and all of the volunteers for great show.

In march I performed at a couple of local shows and also at the Central Coast Country Music Festival in the LBS Showcase with Lindsay Butler, Shaza Leigh, Greg Williams, Rodney Walker, Peggy Gilchrist, Lynnette Guest, and Tom Maxwell, We performed at the Entrance Surf Club on Saturday and Sunday with a full house on both days.

In April I performed at Poley’s Place (Barrington) and Boondooma Homestead, first was Poley’s Easter Hoedown, and as usual it was a great weekend appearing on the show was Ken (Chainsaw) Lindsay (Compare), The Sidey’ (organizers), Melissa Bajric, Tracey Coster, Clyde Cameron, The Gibsons and Ash Mountain. A big thank you to Roes and Ann-Marree I had a great time and looking forward to October.
Second was Boondooma, what a great place. I was there from Wednesday through to Sunday afternoon. Its just non-stop Bush Poetry and Bush Ballads, great camping, great people, great food, what more could you ask for.
I have to say that the ANZAC service was very touching; I am often away on ANZAC Day so it was nice to be able to attend such a nice service.
A big thankyou to Buddy and Lynne I had a great time and hope to be able to perform at Boondooma again.

In May I traveled to Wagga Wagga to perform at the County Music Clubs annual Country Music Weekend. I performed as part of the LBS Showcase along with Lindsay Butler, Shaza Leigh, Trevor Letton, Ashley Cook, Lindsay Woddington Lynnette Guest, and Tom Maxwell.
Also appearing on the weekend was Anita Ree, Dan Manning, Matt Manning, Peter Pratt, Nathan Charlton, and the Craig Giles Show.
Thanks to the Wagga Wagga CM Club I had a fantastic time.

Hopefully I will be starting on a new album in the next month or two, this Album will once again be recorded at LBS studios in Tamworth. This is only possible because of the overwhelming response to my Debut Album, I wish to thank all of the people that have supported me and continue to support me.

Till next time, Take care
Greg Bain

LBS Proudly Presents Greg Bain’s DEBUT ALBUM

Hexham Bowling Club was the venue for the first of two launches, for Greg Bain’s Debut Album Country Skies. The long awaited launch took place at a concert held on Sunday the 17th of August which featured Lindsay Butler, Shaza Leigh, Greg Williams, Slim (Redback Newton), Bob Easter and of cause Greg himself.
The large crowd were treated to a fantastic afternoon of traditional Australian Country Music, eagerly awaiting Greg’s personal performance and unveiling of six new songs from the album.
The official launch took place followed by two encores, with Greg making a selection from his repertoire of old favourites, including We’ve Done Us Proud.
Greg said it was a very special night and was very happy that his good friends Bob Easter and Slim Newton where available to perform on the night. Slim was responsible for Greg’s very first appearance on stage, at the Bellbird Country Music Club and also instrumental in convincing him to enter the Australian Bush Balladeer Star Quest in 2007. Greg is also a member of the Australian Country Music and Bush Ballad Club that perform at Hexham Bowling Club every month so it was great that the venue was available for his Hunter Valley Launch.

A second launch took place the following night at the Australian Country Music Foundation in Tamworth where Greg was the guest artist for the monthly Country in the Courtyard. Lindsay had prepared some backing tracks so Greg could showcase the album. The appreciative audience really enjoyed the traditional Australian Country Music and were enthused by Greg’s style of music. Again this turned out to be a special evening with Lorraine Pfitzner (Secretary of the Australian Bush Balladeers Association) performing the official duties with a phone hook up pre-arranged by Peter Coad (President of the ABBA).
Tamworth is also a special place for Greg. Country Music Capital is where he won the ABBA Star Quest in 2007, where he recorded his first single with Lindsay at LBS and where he recorded this debut album.
Greg said “It is great to be part of the LBS label and working with Lindsay Butler, and indeed, the whole LBS Team is an amazing experience. To say that I am very happy with the result would be an understatement. I don’t think anyone could imagine how passionate and dedicated this team is to producing albums of the highest possible quality.”
Lindsay Butler said “Greg Bain is a new unique singer of Australian Bush Ballads. His style falls somewhere between Slim Dusty and John Williamson, yet somehow totally fresh and different. LBS are proud to have him in our stable. We, at LBS believe that this album will be one of the leading Bush Ballad albums produced this year.”

A.B.B.A. Media Release

Greg Bain of North Rothbury New South Wales took out the 2007 A.B.B.A. Bush Balladeer Star Quest which was held at Tamworth West Diggers Club on the 23rd of January, from an excellent line up of bush ballad talent.

Greg will be recording a single as part of his win and appearing at many festivals over the next twelve months. Greg’s background involved a great deal of travelling until he finally settled in the Hunter Valley NSW. Greg has worked in the mining industry all his life. He bought his first guitar in his 20’s and began playing at BBQs and family functions.

It was Slim Newton who encouraged Greg to get up on stage at the Bellbird Country Music club and then friends insisted Greg enter the Balladeer Star Quest. As the Bush Balladeer Star Quest winner 2007, Greg now has a A.B.B.A. webpage www.bushballadeers.com.au/bain.htm available more details on his activities over the coming twelve months.
Congratulations Greg!
