THE STAN COSTER MEMORIAL AUSTRALIAN BUSH BALLAD AWARDS 2006

On Saturday 4th February 2006 the Festival of Australian Country Music (more widely known as the Bungendore Muster) will turn 21 and will play host to the 9th Stan Coster Memorial Australian Bush Ballad Awards.
Once again these awards have attracted nominations from the very best “Australian country artists” this country has to offer, and once again these awards have proven that the Bush Ballad is thriving and is a major component of today’s “modern” country music industry.
Announcements and presentations to the successful artists will take place on Saturday evening 4 February 2006 on the Greg Gordon stage and will be followed by an unbelievable journey, song by song, through this magnificent land of ours that only the magic of the story teller, the Bush Balladeer, can take you on. The songs and stories you will hear will paint a picture of an Australia you will never want to leave, some of the characters that you have met during your travels will be brought to life again, you will feel for the people on the land as they endure hardship and heartache, you will laugh at the bush humor and share a secret tear in sadness. You will no doubt come to realize that the balladeers of today and the Australia they write about are not so different to Henry Lawson and Banjo Patterson and the Australia they wrote about.
These awards are the only true celebration of the Bush Balladeer and the music of Australia and an experience never to be forgotten.
The Stan Coster Memorial Australian Bush Ballad Awards consist of 7 categories: Male Vocal; Female Vocal; New Talent; Instrumental or Vocal Group or Duo; Album of the Year; Comedy Song of the Year; and Songwriter.
Thank you to all the artists, who supported the 2006 Bungendore Stan Coster Memorial awards, by nominating.
It is your support that enables us to maintain the awards each year.
Congratulations to you all on some wonderful material, and good luck with your current CD/s.
