THE STAN COSTER MEMORIAL AUSTRALIAN BUSH BALLAD AWARDS 2007
On Saturday 3rd February 2007 the Festival of Australian Country Music (more widely known as the Bungendore Muster) hosted the Stan Coster Memorial Australian Bush Ballad Awards.  This was  the tenth awards and with over 180 nominations for 2007 it’s a fair bet these awards will be around for many more years.

The growth and popularity of the Australian Bush Ballad and the importance of these awards is well demonstrated in the number and diversity of the nominations received for 2007.  They have once again attracted nominations from the very best “Australian country artists”.  The awards, together with the Bungendore Muster, continue to consolidate awareness of the Bush Ballad and are major factors in the preservation of the Australian story through the music that is Australian.  These two events strive to put Australian Country back where it belongs “ÖN TOP”.

These awards are the only true celebration of the Bush Balladeer and the music of Australia.  The combination of the music and the Bungendore setting, both of them pure Australian, is an experience never to be forgotten.

The Stan Coster Memorial Australian Bush Ballad Awards are open to all artists to enter and all artists/entries are subject to eligibility criteria.  The awards consist of 7 categories: Male Vocal; Female Vocal; New Talent; Instrumental or Vocal Group or Duo; Album of the Year; Comedy Song of the Year; and Songwriter.

Regarding the Country Muster in general, the show ground Trust  proceeded with the erection of an additional shower block and provision of toilet facilities to the main pavilion-catering area. These improvements involved financial support from user groups, with the Country Music Muster being the principal contributor.
Hope to see you all at Bungendore February 2008 for another great muster.
