Well what a wonderful week we are
had at the Tamworth Festival!!!!
We have enjoyed some top audiences....our thanks to all for your support
of our shows and the many shows put on by the Bush Balladeers Association
at the A.B.B.A.'s Balladeers Homestead......
TSA WIN!!!!!
Jim Hermel and I were thrilled to pick up an award for our
Gospel Song 'Golden Mile' at the TSA Awards at Tamworth...!!!!!!!
This song comes from the Runway Dixie CD we put out in conjunction
with Lynette in October..... the Cd has been going great and radio
has really supported the title track "Golden Mile'.....
Our thanks to all....Fantastic!!!!

RUNAWAY DIXIE
- GOLDEN MILE - CD NOW OUT!!
This album features Jim,
Lynette and myself with our ‘banjo section’ and ‘gospel
brackets’ as well as many of the classic gospel songs and bluegrass
instrumentals, plus a few new originals. The band name we have released
the album under is ‘Runaway Dixie’.
The title track “Golden Mile” was the first single from
the album released on NFS 136 in November.
Incidentally, the track already is picking up world airplay through
internet radio station “The Gospel Hour” out of New York,
with Jim’s Mum and Dad hearing it played via their computer
in Adelaide, which was a great thrill for Jack and Dawn, not to mention
us!

NEW ALBUM COMMENCED IN OCTOBER
In October we commenced recording a new Peter Coad and The Coad Sisters
album featuring new material from Peter, Lynette and myself. Depending
on time available to finish it, we anticipate the CD will be out sometime
around mid 2010. More news on that soon.
TOURING 2010
Once again we will be on the road a lot in 2010, but two main events
booked at time of writing include The Barham Festival (May) and the
Caboolture Urban Festival, plus touring to Qld in May and July and
some other bits and pieces around the country in between. Check out
our website pages for dates and updates as they happen!

Background
Versatile multi-instrumentalists, vocalists originally from the isolated
northern outback of SA, PETER COAD & THE COAD SISTERS now reside
in NSW.
PETER COAD
PETER COAD (originally part of the popular Coad Bros), and his sisters
VIRGINIA and LYNETTE (COAD SISTERS), are PETER COAD & the COAD
SISTERS, full time professional entertainers with over 20 years experience
working in the music industry.
COAD SISTERS
Multi talented musicians and songwriters, Virginia and Lynette started
performing as the Coad Sisters in 1989. COAD SISTERS as a popular
duo act then joined PETER COAD as PETER COAD and The COAD SISTERS
in 1991. COAD SISTERS still perform as a duo occasionally.
The
Show
Traditional Country style Music, Ballads, Originals, Standards, Yodelling,
touching on Contemporary Music, Irish and other influences, with a
bit of Bush Poetry and Comedy thrown in as well.
A full show features the group playing “Live" Drums, Bass,
Lead, and Rhythm guitar, Mandolin, Fiddle, Keyboards, Harmonica, harmonies
etc.

act.

PETER COAD & the COAD SISTERS have had many finalists
with their own material. PETER COAD had a finalist with an album "Bush
Verse" in the Tamworth Laureate Awards 1998. Three finalists
in T.S.A., T.I.A.R.A, 1993, and 2000 from other original albums.

PETER COAD & the COAD SISTERS released their first combined 12
track album in August 2003- "Home Again" with four finalists’
tracks featuring in 2004 T.I.A.R.A, TSA and Bungendore Stan Coster
Memorial Bush Ballad awards. AWARD WINNERS
January 2004 saw COAD SISTERS unique version of the classic bush ballad
"Ballad of Camooweal" from the "Home Again" album
take home the prestigious Instrumental/vocal/group/duo award at the
Bungendore Awards.
They
released 'The Road We Travel' in April 2005, which scored Finalist
spots in the New Zealand/Tasmanian Songwriters Awards 2006, Bungendore
Awards 2006 and the Bush Ballad section of the Victorian Awards 2006!
Peter's latest solo release
in May 2007 is entitled 'Outback Chapters' which is receiving excellent
airplay across Australia.
