In January 2012 the A.B.B.A. continues to bring the members and supporters excellent bush ballad and variety shows at the “Balladeers Homestead”.
The "Balladeers Homestead" will operate from Friday 20th - Friday 27th January. Once again the Salvos will operate their canteen from Monday 23rd – Friday 27th with quality hot and cold food, snacks and drinks at a very reasonable price.

Banjo & Henry features the great works of Banjo Paterson and Henry Lawson in song and verse. These legendary works such as “Sweeny”, “Man From Snowy River”, “Bush Christening”, and many more will be performed by Australia’s talented singer song writers Graham Rodger, Peter Coad and The Coad Sisters.

The Coad Country Concert returns with a fun filled show, featuring the award winning talents of Peter Coad, Virginia & Lynette Coad, Big Mal Coad, & Jim Hermel. Fresh back from a five week tour of the USA these talented singer songwriters and multi instrumentalists will be performing songs for their many albums, plus favourites, with a laugh or two along the way.

Charley Boyter and Friends features the legend of bush ballad guitar Charley Boyter on guitar and vocals, Michael Tyne on steel and dobro, Bruce O’Hara on guitar and vocal, Neville Anderson with songs from his new “Lonely Places” album, including chart singles “Bar Room Blues:“ and “The Graves of Camoolweal”. Joining Ernie will be guitar legend Charley Boyter, who has just returned from the USA where he was Inducted into Iowa Traditional Country Music Hall. This guitar great will once again thrill the ordinance with his fine renditions of classic songs. Special guest Lex K. will be performing songs from his album along with many other favourites.

The Yodelling Spectacular has over the years brought together on stage some of Australia’s finest yodelling talent, and this year is no exception, with the talents of Laura Downing, Jamie Davis, Lynette Guest, Pete Smith, Johanna Hemara, Taylor Pfeiffer, Jay Podger & Virginia Coad, you’re assured of a morning you’ll remember.

1pm —A.B.B.A. A.C.M.F. HALL FUNDRAISER (Fundraiser for Tamworth Hall of Fame) Host Lorraine Pfitzner. Artists: Reg Poole, Greg Bain, Lorraine Pfitzner, Ginger Cox, Trudy & Ged Hintz, Angus Gill, Rod Walker, Ken Lindsay, Clarrie Weller & Kalesti Butler.
A.C.M.F Hall Fundraiser will once again present another great concert at The Balladeers Homestead. This is a fundraiser and all proceeds raised go to the A.C.M.F Hall. All the artists who appear on the concert have donated their time to this worthy project. Appearing this year are, Ginger Cox, Reg Poole, Greg Bain, Lorraine Pfitzner, Trudy & Ged Hintz, Angus Gill, Rod Walker, Ken Lindsay, Clarrie Weller and Kalesti Butler.

7pm —The Not So Dusty II Concert (The Bushies Tribute To Slim Dusty )
The Not So Dusty II Concert (The Bushies Tribute To Slim Dusty ) at the Balladeers Homestead on the 27th January (7pm start) is really shaping up to be a very special night!
The list of artists performing their Slim tributes at the Not So Dusty concert keeps growing daily. The special guests performing on the night already include Keith Jamieson, Jim Haynes, Jeff Brown, Peter Denahy, Amos Morris, Tom Maxwell, Trevor Adamson, Peter Coad & the Coad Sisters, Tracey Coster, Reg Poole and Charley Boyter with more guests to be announced closer to the event. The night will hosted by Slim and Joy's son and daughter Anne & David Kirkpatrick. Tickets are now available online or in person through the Tamworth Tourism Office...but anyone interested should hurry as there is only one show and only a limited number of tickets available. The organisers ...Slim Dusty Enterprises will donate all profits from the night to the Slim Dusty Foundation.
All profits will go to assisting the Slim Dusty Foundation in Kempsey.

FROG & TOAD FUNCTION CENTRE

The Frog and Toad Function Centre situated at Comfort Inn Hallmark, 236 Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth is the place to be during the 2012 Tamworth Country Music Festival. There will be 5 days packed full of entertainment on offer with a wide variety of showcases being presented to meet the musical tastes of anyone who likes their music “Country”. Monday 23rd January 10am to 1pm – Jeff Brown Show
Golden Guitar winner, Jeff Brown will be performing two of his own concerts at the Frog & Toad during this year's Tamworth Festival. Accompanied by talented guitarist Ricky Shipp, Jeff will deliver all your favourite Bush Ballads, trucking songs and songs about life on the land with quality & sincerity. If you love Traditional Country music, don't miss Jeff Brown and Ricky Shipp. Adults $15.00. Monday 23rd January 8pm to 11pm – Where Country Began
This show has been extremely popular on previous occasions. Some of your favorite Country Music Artists digging back into their archive of special songs to perform for you early Country Music that inspired them to walk the Country Music Road. This year Stuie French and Camille Te Nahu, Karen Lynne and Martin Louis, Amber Joy Poulton, Peter Pratt and Dean Perrett share the classic songs that are their country roots. Adults $18. Tuesday 24th January 10am to 1pm
– Two Old Mates

An established show that people look forward to at the Frog & Toad each year is when good mates Dean Perrett and Jeff Brown get together for their ‘Two Old Mates Show’. A show with Dean and Jeff performing the great Bush Ballad Songs you know them for, then getting together on stage to sing some of their favourite numbers and all time classics. This show is always a highlight for fans of traditional country music. Talented guitarist Ricky Shipp will also be there to add his magical touch to their songs. Adults $15. Tuesday 24th January 4pm to 7pm
– The Rod Williams Country Music Show

Featuring “Australia’s Country Music Gentleman” The Ultimate Showman Rod Williams, returns to Tamworth after a quarter of a Century. Also starring “The Princess of Country Music” Melissa Partridge, and the Award Winning Duo of Bush Ballads Ged & Trudy Hintz. A great afternoon of Country Music, showcasing Traditional Country and Bush Ballads. For the first time ever, with any CD purchase you will receive free of charge an A4 Color Photo of yourself together with the artist, printed, signed and laminated before you leave the Show. Wednesday 25th January 10am to 1pm – Anita Ree Acoustic Australia
Featuring Anita Ree with Special Guests Bec Hance and Kalesti Butler. A fun morning of acoustic Australian story songs and yarns. A story and a laugh for all. Adults $15. Tickets at the door and from Destination Tamworth.

Wednesday 25th January 3pm to 6pm – Pages of the Past CD Launch
The Frog and Toad will be an interesting place to be today as Toowoomba based singer/songwriter Alan Mackey releases his new CD "Pages of the Past". Alan's new album, contains all original compositions, features co-writes with Will Ogilvie "Northwards to the Sheds", Jack Sorensen "Condamine Bells", Kelly Dixon "Mist Upon The Buffel" and Colin Wilson "Make the Diamantina" plus Alan's Vietnam anthem "Marbles" and other gems. Alan's Special Guest on the show will be the one and only Ken "Chainsaw" Lindsay, fresh from the success of his great new CD "The Night I Saved John Wayne". Adults $12. Tickets at the door.

– A Touch of Australia

Enjoy an evening with South Australian storyteller John O'Dea. From Old Rusty Ute and Old Man in Little Boys Shoes to Ram in the Dam, Johno's songs tell stories of Australia and its people. Whether performing his own songs or other Australian classics, there is no mistaking the affinity Johno' has with this country. His unique voice and ability to paint a picture in song makes this a show not to be missed. A Touch of Australia is Johno's tribute to this land and its people. What a perfect way to finish Australia Day 2012. Adults $15. Tickets at the door.

Friday 27th January 10am to 1pm
- The Story Tellers

Dean Perrett and Peter Pratt bring country music lovers a show with a difference. Dean with his Bush Ballad style of storytelling, and Peter with his unique blend of western ballads and crooning which he has blended into his own song writing. Of recent years Dean and Peter have taken their show on the road in a successful touring format and the show has proved to be a very popular touring country music show. Adults $15. Friday 27th January 3pm to 6pm
– Territory Voices

Ted Egan and Warren H Williams present “Territory Voices”, as a tribute to the late and great Ntjalka Gus Williams OAM (1937 – 2010) Warren's esteemed Dad, who was much-loved by all Country Music followers. Ted and Warren will present a unique array of songs about the people and the lifestyle of the Territory. Don't miss it, at the very friendly venue, the Frog and Toad. Adults $25.00.
