JULIE
PERANDES - 2006 BUSH BALLADEER STAR QUEST WINNER
The Tamworth festival 2006 saw Julie Perandes
from Brisbane take out the winners place at the
Australian Bush Balladeers Star Quest 2006, held
at the West Diggers Club.
Born in Brisbane in 1987, Julie grew up
listening to recordings of Shorty Ranger, Stan
Coster. Slim Dusty and many others.
At the age of six Julie won her first trophy.
She has a strong interest in and loves
performing the bush ballad style music. Julie
was a top 5 finalist in the 2005 Star Quest and
felt honored to be chosen as the first recipient
of the A.B.B.A. Camerata scholarship in 2005.
Currently a member of the Golden Wattle Country
music Club Julie performs regularly in her local
area. Julie took out the honours from a strong
field of bush ballad talent at the 2006 Quest
with very strong performances.
Wave Jackson presented Julie with her
trophy, before an enthusiastic audience. As part
of her Star Quest win,
Julie will not only be
recording a single with LBS in the near future,
but will be performing at the Bungendore Muster
in February, and many other major events around
Australia throughout the year on behalf of the
A.B.B.A..
