G'day
Everyone,
Having a great time at the moment, just released my album 'The Road
Of Life' and it's getting tonnes of airplay. Also, my single, 'The Camooweal
Drover's Reunion' is on the airways too and going well. Thanks very
much to all the radio presenters that are playing it. Well I've been
here there and everwhere again. On the 5th of july I flew down to Adelaide,I
wish i had more time to look around, but I had to get back for work.
Had a great time and met some lovely people too. Thankyou to Adelaide
Country Music Club for looking after me, it was great.
I caught up with Jammo, Alisha, Caitlyn, Terry and Jenny Bennets at
Gatton RSL, that was fun, it was good show.
The next show was the funraiser for local Toowoomba FM station 102.7
4DDB at The Empire Theatre. I love performing at the Empire, it's such
a lovely place to play in. Sadly, Bob Mcmin, one of the presenters, who
started the funraiser passed away a couple of weeks later. He was a
great supporter of Bush Ballads. Best Wishes o Liz and Family for their
loss.
Then it was down to Tamworth for the Hats Off To Country Festival. It
was good to catch up with some old mates Anita Ree, Dan Manning, Peter
Pratt, Lorraine Pfitzner and the list goes on, it was great to see them
all.
Next up Gympie on the 28th and 29th of August, looking forward to that.
Straight after that, on the 30th is my Album Launch. It's gonna be a
huge weekend that one, but I can't wait.
The Album Launch is gonna be at Pittsworth Town hall 1pm on the 30th
of August. Some of the artists are,- Keith jamieson and Alisha Smith,

BIO
SHARON
SMITH
Sharon
who hails from Queensland was born in Pittsworth Queensland.
She has resided in the Pittsworth and Oakey region most of her life.
When at school she was very sports minded, and as boxing was a sport
that has been in her family for along time, she took it on.
Sharon trained with her father and brothers for most of her younger
life, then at the age of fifteen she persevered and committed herself
to the sport for 5 years, her reward being the first women's welterweight
champion of Queensland.
While always being inspired by music, Sharon really didn't participate
until she met Jeff Brown and started to play bass.
Over the period of time that Sharon and Jeff were together, she got
to support many distinguished country music artists including Barry
Thorton, Charlie Boyter, Keith Jamieson, Alisha Smith and many more.
It was in 2001 that she finally got the courage to have a go at singing
and it was at festivals such as Tamworth and other Country Music Shows
that she prepared herself as a singer.
After the 2005 Tamworth Festival she accompanied Keith Jamieson, Alisha
Smith and Jeff Brown on a tour that took them through parts of NSW,
Victoria, Tasmania and back to Queensland. Jeff and Sharon continued
working after their return.
2006 than became the year that she would like to forget with her father
and grandfather passing away, as well as her and Jeff parting company.
Looking for a lifeline to help her get her mind off things, Sharon turned
to the one thing that had not been present much in 2006, that being
her music. She joined the Broxburn Country Music Club and after a while
the passion she had for music and singing began to glow again and she
decided to strive for more in the music industry.
2007 saw her doing some work with Keith Jamieson, Alisha Smith and Teddy
Thompson.
Sharon entered the Broxburn Talent Quest and got 3rd in the Bush Ballad
Section and was awarded the Stan Coster Memorial Award.
It was because of a successful weekend that Sharon decided to give the
Bush Balladeer Star Quest a go that is run by A.B.B.A.
2008 Sharon Smith competed in the final of the Bush Balladeer Star Quest
at Tamworth Country Music Festival along with 3 other hopefuls.
Rachel Richards being the winner.
She then had another go at the Broxburn Talent Quest, this time getting
1st in the Bush Ballad Section and decided to have another go at the
Star Quest.
2009 Sharon made the final four again and won the Bush Balladeer Star
Quest.
