NEW ALBUM
OUT NOW!
G'day everyone,
Happy new year.. its hard to believe its
come so quick..2008 started off well for me when I headed down to
Tamworth on the 3rd of January to attend the 2008 CMAA College of
Country Music, thanks to the Australian Bush Balladeers Association
and their College scholarship. I spent a jam packed two weeks learning
lots of things including song writing, performance and several other
subjects. I even had a crack at song writing, which ended up turning
out pretty well as I teamed up with a lovely young lady (Meg Carswell)
from Cootamundra and together we wrote a song which I performed at
the Graduation Concert, which was very exciting.
I’d like to thank the Bush Balladeers Association for the amazing
opportunity to attend the CMAA College of Country Music this year,
it was a great experience and a wonderful opportunity to meet and
spend time with the other talented graduates.
It was great to hear that Rachel Richards
won the 2008 Bush Balladeers Star Quest. I wish Rachel all the best
for this year and I’m sure Rachel will be a fantastic ambassador
for the Balladeers.
ALBUM RELEASE!
During my time in Tamworth I was lucky enough to launch my new album
“Waiting for the Rain”, which was produced by Waddo at
Kross Kut Records. I’m really happy with how the album
turned out and was extremely proud to launch my album with Rachel
Richards at the Red Cross Hall. It was a great night, thanks to everyone
who came and helped make the night so wonderful. I was also privileged
to be asked by Lorraine Pfitzner to sing one of the songs off my album,
at the Salute to Rick and Thel Carey night. It was a great night and
it was a real thrill to be able to sing “Cousin Ratsack”
which was written by Keith Jamieson in front of Rick Carey.
Well, that’s about it from me for
the time being, I look forward to catching up with you all around
the traps. Till then, take care.
Julie Perandes.
